"My teens and I stayed at the Cornstalk Hotel and all of us loved it ... The whole house was an experience. We loved its airy hallways with their ornate double bedroom doors and fancy doorknobs. And its furniture and decorations were perfect for the atmosphere they created, the place felt as it might have a hundred and some years ago. The hotel was staffed with laid back, but colorful characters who really went with the French Quarter, we loved them. I would definitely return... if you want old world flavor - the Cornstalk delivers."
"I had passed the Cornstalk before and thought that it might be a nice alternative. When booking the reservation, I was given the choice of a 'small' or 'large' room. I chose a large room as it was still considerably less than what I would have paid at other hotels. First of all, the location is perfectly situated in a quieter part of the quarter near all the shops and nightlife. The public areas are simply stunning with chandeliers and antiques. My room was spacious and beautifully furnished with antiques. It was spotless and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and welcoming."
"Just got back from four days at the Cornstalk and we were terribly impressed. The staff were outgoing and helpful and the service was excellent. We stayed in one of the less expensive rooms which meant it was quite small but very lovely and the bed had just been replaced so it was very comfortable. The view from the balcony is worthy of a serene morning coffee break. The location is perfect being one block off Bourbon street in a quiet section and yet only blocks away from anywhere you want to go. If I were to complain about anything at all it would be the plumbing. It's an old building and that is to be expected. If you want New Orleans ambience and turn of the century charm this is definitely the place to stay!"
